We believe an effective educator is a reflective servant leader, who has the necessary knowledge and skills to teach others successfully. In addition, we believe Bethel teacher education candidates are called to teach, called to serve, and called to lead.
Mission
The mission of the School of Education is to uphold the mission of the University and to prepare candidates for careers in public education. Our program is designed to instill a love of lifelong learning and service through teaching others. Bethel’s mission is to create opportunities for members of the learning community to develop to their highest potential as whole persons—intellectually, spiritually, socially and physically—in a Christian environment.

NOTICE REGARDING STATUS OF BETHEL EDUCATION LICENSURE PROGRAMS
Please be advised that Bethel University is currently involved in litigation with the Tennessee State Board of Education (the “Board”) that may impact Bethel University’s ability to recommend teaching candidates for licensure. The Board is currently appealing the Davidson County Chancery Court’s decision that the Board’s action to revoke Bethel’s continuing approval was invalid, and that Bethel’s status as a conditionally approved Education Preparation Program is restored. If the Board prevails in its appeal, it may negatively impact Bethel’s ability to recommend students enrolled in its education licensure programs for a teaching license in Tennessee and/or other states. For the more information regarding the current status of the litigation, please contact an advisor in Bethel’s School of Education.
